Excellent camp site 20-30 minutes walk along the Charente to the town centre.
Friendly staff. Excellent food in the restaurant.
Big pitches separated by shrubs and trees.
Sainres is worth a visit with its Roman ruins.

We tried this site because of the city. We found the city, and the cycle routes really good. All the Cognac houses, charge for tours, except we think Bache. You need to pre book online for an English slot. The site reception closes at 12, and WILL NOT allow arrivals till it reopens. Grass pitches and walkways, so it is messy in wet weather. Toilets get messy therefore. Restaurant is ok for a quick basic pub type meal.

pitches had a mixture of European 6A and “blue” 16A hook up, we had an adaptor so not an issue for us, but another couple didn’t have adaptor, the star at reception changed their pitch to one with “blue” socket.
Approx 30 mins walk along river into Cognac, beautiful town well worth a visit.

Lovely site plenty of shady and sunny good size pitches. The restaurant on site has a good range of choices with friendly staff. Wi/fi is limited to reception and restaurant area not 80% as stated in ACSI booklet. Ideal for visiting Cognac which can be walked from the campsite alongside the Charante river takes about 30 minutes at a leisurely pace. Well worth a visit.

Unfortunately the weather had been very wet before our arrival so we didn't see it at it's best. The pool was full of brown water and the pitches were scruffy. The lady in reception was pretty miserable but maybe that was due to the weather ! The toilets and showers are basic but clean. A great place for visiting Cognac with an easy cycle along the river.

Beautiful and peaceful setting next to the river, easy walking and cycling access to Cognac and surrounding villages and vineyards. Spotless bathrooms and friendly staff. Would stay again.

Loved this site. Located along the Charente river, out pitch had views of the river. Pitches are large and defined by hedges. The site is really well maintained and looks great. The ablution block was absolutely immaculate. Shower cubicles are huge and the layout of the toilets/showers is perfect. There is a lovely pool and also a boules area. The cycle path runs along the river on the opposite side to the campsite and is stunning, we cycled into cognac, but due to Covid restrictions we didn’t see as much as we would have normally. This is a really outstanding campsite. Be aware that the reception is closed from lunchtime until 4pm so you are unable to check in until then. There was quite a queue when we arrived but the staff dealt with everyone brilliantly.
