absolute gem of a site. yes we got lucky with the pitch but the neighbours were great, toilets showers clean, entertainment stopped at midnight. short walk into a beautiful town which definitely caters for Brit tourists. planned for a couple of nights stopped for 5.

Bit random pitch selection but guess this is end of summer season, found a nice location. Showers excellent. Staff friendly, excellent value. Easy to walk into town with bus connections to Portimao. Swimming pool was closed.

Firstly there are no lineated pitches and it’s a hilly and open land campsite with trees. if you are lucky to get a good parking spot you will stay a week. if not, probably shorter. we were lucky and stayed a week as we enjoyed Alvor itself - lovely little town with lots of restaurants and great fish. Big supermarket 4 mins walk round the corner.

We stayed in April and chose a small gravel pitch near the bar entrance area. The campsite is a fair walk from the waterside area of Alvor and so we didn’t want the extra walk once in the campsite. We were very comfortable here and found the facilities very good. Dog friendly Would stay again.
Pool not open for season but friendly bar/cafe upstairs was open and provided entertainment most evenings

stayed for 9 nights plots good in size supermarket round the corner within walking g distance to the town not our cup of tea like Cornwall quite hilly need inhalers to get up the streets from the sea front again not impress couple of rsturants nice sandy beach

Camping Alvor is situated in a beautiful location, within walking distance to beaches/village. Friendly staff, clean facilities and lots of local sights to see, make Camping Alvor an excellent choice for a vacation!

Staff are brilliant fabulous location

Stayed for two nights late May 2022. The lady on reception when we arrived was very helpful and processed check in efficiently. You are given a pass for your windscreen and wrist bands which she fitted at the desk. If you lose either there is a fine! The pass has to be returned at checkout. Your ACSI card is retained until you leave. Our subsequent two visits to reception were not so pleasant as there was a young guy with an abrupt manner and bad attitude. The swimming pool area looked good but we didn\'t use it. There didn\'t seem to be enough sunbeds to cater for busy periods though, but there were enough for this time of year. Toilet facilities were clean but very dated and in need of renovation. No toilet paper or hand drying facilities. Pitches were varied with a few hard standings and the rest were dirt and shingle. Some levelling is needed. Electricity connection points were not optimally placed and often needed cables to be laid across roads. Also the boxes were locked so you had to find your pitch, locate the nearest box then return to reception to arrange for someone to meet you there to plug in. We didn\'t use the electric in the end as our pitch wasn\'t well served but I suspect you have to go through a similar process on departure. There were lots of permanent residents/seasonal pitches. We found a spot between two that were not occupied so had a lovely quiet stay. In fact it was the first CC campsite we have stayed on this trip where we haven\'t been annoyed by local barking dogs. There are two motorhome service points, one at the top of the site and one at the bottom. We found one extra toilet emptying point, but depending where you pitch it can be a bit of a walk to them. The Jolly Bar on site is run by a nice English couple. We had Sunday lunch which was good, however the pricing was not far off UK prices. Up in the mountains food and drink was cheap. There is a shop on site but with a limited range of stock so call at a supermarket on the way if you need supplies. Alvor in general seems to be a predominantly British tourist trap and priced accordingly. If you like Irish and sports bars you will enjoy but other options are available. It was a little too \"home from home\" for us. That said Alvor is a lovely town with plenty of choice. The harbour area in particular is very nice. If you are walking or cycling there are some steep hills both on the campsite and in Alvor. If you are a beach lover be prepared for a long walk.
